Welcome to the Moving Toward Better Radio show/podcast. This is the debut show under this name, but for those who have followed my blogging adventure for a while, you know this is not my first radio show, and I am excited to be back on the airways. I am a bit rusty so the show is too, but as with any new venture, we’ll get better as we move along.
What is Moving Toward Better?
For those who are new to the show or Moving Toward Better in general, it’s my mission to help people, particularly overwhelmed moms, live their best life and let the rest go. One of the most powerful things I ever did for my family was to get control of my home and my life, not in an angry, martyred way but in an intentional and mindful way that freed us to have a great family life and love our mostly organized and welcoming home. It’s never perfect, but it’s not embarrassing either.
The purpose of this show
The purpose of this radio show is to add a more personal touch to the process to what I do on other platforms. My goal is to deal with specific issues of those who read my blog, follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn or listen to this show. Because of that, I encourage you to ask questions through those platforms or through private messaging or by emailing me at email@example.com. I really want to help you with your biggest challenges. I will honor your privacy while offering solutions that may not only help you but someone else who is struggling too.
Sharing our struggles
We all tend to think we’re alone in our struggles, but more often than we know, there are people who have the same fears, worries and challenges, and having someone understand you is comforting. The bonus is that when we share those fears, worries and challenges, we often find solutions we never could have found on our own, and we help others in the process.
Through the groups I’ve belonged to, I learned how to manage money and create a positive net worth. I learned how to manage my home in a way that makes me happy and joyful rather than cranky and crabby. I even learned to run my blogging business better and create a life I love more and more every day, and that’s what I want for you, to live a life you love.
How’s your breathing?
One of my favorite ways of getting a grip on my life is through meditation and deep breathing. It’s simple, easy and powerful, and if you’re anything like me, you will love the result. First, take a deep breath. Inhale slowly and deeply breathing into every part of your body. Think of the oxygen of your breath energizes every cell with oxygen. Make sure that breath expands your diaphragm and stomach as much as it does your lungs.
Exhale more than normal
As you exhale, push the air out with your diaphragm, and when you think you are at the end of the exhale, push just a bit more. Hold that for just a few seconds before inhaling again. Just as that becomes uncomfortable, inhale, expanding the diaphragm and stomach area even more. Then, as you continue to breathe deeply, soften your forehead, drop your shoulders away from your ears, stretch your neck, lengthen your spine and relax your stomach.
How does it feel?
Do you feel a difference? Most people do, and that exercise takes less than two minutes. In two minutes, you can feel calmer and more relaxed. All it took was changing your focus and intention. So many improvements in our lives are the result of little shifts of focus, intention and practice, and those things add up quickly to create a wonderful life. Are you ready for that? I hope so because it’s what you and your family deserve.
Ready to solve your own challenges?
So what do you struggle with most of all? Are you willing to share so that others can benefit from knowing they are in good company? Are you willing to make small, intentional changes that improve your life? Whether it’s help with your children, your home, your budget, your attitude or your relationships, contact me on the Moving Toward Better Facebook or Instagram page, my Twitter account, which is @MovTowardBetter or shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let’s all start moving toward better today. I love doing this work and, as much as I improved my life, I know there are still better ways to live, and when I can help someone else do that too, it’s a double bonus.
